Why Docsmith exists

Docsmith started from a familiar problem: a repo with three hundred stars and a README that hadn't been touched since the first release. The code had moved on. The docs hadn't. Every new contributor asked the same setup question in the issues, and every answer lived in someone's memory instead of on the page.

The usual fixes don't fit developers. Hiring a freelancer means negotiating scope and hoping the invoice matches what you imagined. Pasting your repo into a chatbot is free, but you're the one who has to catch the endpoint it invented and the parameter it renamed. Docs platforms sell you a place to host pages you still have to write.

We built Docsmith to remove the guesswork on both sides. You send source, we send back Markdown that matches it, reviewed by a person, on a date we commit to before we start. No subscription, no dashboard to learn, no lock-in — just docs you own outright in a format every tool already reads.
